Volume III
Quran and Surahs
Explore the meanings, themes and context of selected surahs and passages. Start with the short chapters you recite most often, then follow the related lessons and practice activities. Reports about virtues are shown with their references and grading where relevant. Reading resources and explanations are labelled clearly so you can choose between reciting a passage and studying its meaning. All surahs of the Quran are listed here, 114 in all, from the short surahs most people learn first to the longest.
The way throughUnderstand a short surah, work on its meaning, then explore context.

Reported virtues, graded
Virtues are where writing about surahs most often goes wrong: weak and invented reports passed on as certain. On every surah page here, each reported virtue carries its grade, and the sound and the weak are never mixed.
- AuthenticIn Sahih al-Bukhari or Sahih Muslim, or graded sahih or hasan with no grader disagreeing.
- Graded differentlyScholars disagree; the page shows who graded it which way.
- Weak chain, strengthenedA grader finds the chain weak but lifted by another narration.
- WeakGraded weak; kept apart from the sound reports.
- Weak to fabricatedNo grader accepts it; some say weak, some fabricated. The page shows who said which.
- FabricatedGraded fabricated, with the grader named.
- No reliable basisGraded as having no basis, with the grader named.
