The short answer
Manzil dua is a collection of Quran passages, not a single surah or one continuous supplication. The nine-page Manzil compilation PDF examined here (source 4) lists passages from 14 surahs, from Al-Fatihah to An-Nas, and its ranges total 79 verses. Hadith evidence is needed for any claimed routine or result.
Can you read the Manzil collection online?
The reading below follows the passage list in the edition examined, in its order. The Arabic is the Tanzil text and the English is our adapted Pickthall, both printed by the site's helpers and not retyped. The sequence is a compilation: we do not attribute its arrangement to the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. The Quran is printed as given, with no commentary from us.
Al-Fatihah 1:1 to 7
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds, The Beneficent, the Merciful. Master of the Day of Judgement, You (alone) we worship; You (alone) we ask for help. Show us the straight path, The path of those whom You have favoured; Not the (path) of those who earn Your anger nor of those who go astray.
Al-Baqarah 2:1 to 5
Alif. Lam. Mim. This is the Scripture whereof there is no doubt, a guidance to those who ward off (evil). Who believe in the Unseen, and establish prayer, and spend of that We have bestowed upon them; And who believe in that which is revealed to you (Muhammad) and that which was revealed before you, and are certain of the Hereafter. These depend on guidance from their Lord. These are the successful.
Al-Baqarah 2:163
Your Allah is One Allah; there is no God except Him, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
Al-Baqarah 2:255 to 257
Allah! There is no deity except Him, the Alive, the Self-Sustaining. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedes with Him except by His leave? He knows that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He will. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous. There is no compulsion in religion. The right direction is henceforth distinct from error. And he who rejects false deities and believes in Allah has grasped a firm handhold which will never break. Allah is Hearer, Knower. Allah is the Protecting Guardian of those who believe. He brings them out of darkness into light. As for those who disbelieve, their patrons are false deities. They bring them out of light into darkness. Such are rightful owners of the Fire. They will abide therein.
Al-Baqarah 2:284 to 286
To Allah (belongs) whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth; and whether you make known what is in your minds or hide it, Allah will bring you to account for it. He will forgive whom He will and He will punish whom He will. Allah is Able to do all things. The messenger believes in that which has been revealed to him from his Lord and (so do) believers. Each one believes in Allah and His angels and His scriptures and His messengers - We make no distinction between any of His messengers - and they say: We hear, and we obey. (Grant us) Your forgiveness, our Lord. To You is the journeying. Allah does not burden a soul beyond its scope. For it (is only) that which it has earned, and against it (only) that which it has deserved. Our Lord! Do not condemn us if we forget, or miss the mark! Our Lord! Do not lay on us such a burden as You laid on those before us! Our Lord! Do not impose on us that which we do not have the strength to bear! Pardon us, absolve us and have mercy on us. You are our Protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving folk.
Al Imran 3:18
Allah (Himself) is Witness that there is no God except Him. And the angels and the men of learning (too are witness). Maintaining His creation in justice, there is no God except Him the Almighty, the Wise.
Al Imran 3:26 to 27
Say: O Allah! Owner of Sovereignty! You give sovereignty to whom You will, and You withdraw sovereignty from whom You will. You exalt whom You will, and You abase whom You will. In Your hand is the good. Indeed, You are Able to do all things. You cause the night to pass into the day, and You cause the day to pass into the night. And You bring forth the living from the dead, and You bring forth the dead from the living. And You give sustenance to whom You choose, without stint.
Al-A'raf 7:54 to 56
Indeed, your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then mounted He the Throne. He covers the night with the day, which is in haste to follow it, and has made the sun and the moon and the stars subservient by His command. His truly is all creation and commandment. Blessed be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! (O mankind!) Call upon your Lord humbly and in secret. Indeed, He does not love aggressors. Do not work confusion in the earth after the fair ordering (thereof). and call on Him in fear and hope. Indeed, the mercy of Allah is near to the good.
Al-Isra 17:110 to 111
Say (to mankind): Cry to Allah, or cry to the Beneficent, to whichsoever you cry (it is the same). His are the most beautiful names. And you (Muhammad), be not loud-voiced in your prayer nor yet silent therein, but follow a way between. And say: Praise be to Allah, Who has not taken to Himself a son, and Who has no partner in the Sovereignty, nor has He any protecting friend through dependence. And magnify Him with all magnificence.
Al-Mu'minun 23:115 to 118
Deemed you then that We had created you for nothing, and that you would not be returned to Us? Now Allah be Exalted, the True King! There is no God except Him, the Lord of the Throne of Grace. He who cries to any other god along with Allah has no proof thereof. His reckoning is only with his Lord. Indeed, disbelievers will not be successful. And (O Muhammad) say: My Lord! Forgive and have mercy, for You are best of all who show mercy.
As-Saffat 37:1 to 11
By those who set the ranks in battle order And those who drive away (the wicked) with reproof And those who read (the Word) for a reminder, Indeed, your Lord is surely One; Lord of the heavens and of the earth and all that is between them, and Lord of the sun's risings. Indeed, We have adorned the lowest heaven with an ornament, the planets; With security from every perverse devil. They cannot listen to the Highest Chiefs for they are pelted from every side, Outcast, and theirs is a perpetual torment; Save him who snatches a fragment, and there pursues him a piercing flame. Then ask them (O Muhammad): Are they stronger as a creation, or those (others) whom we have created? Indeed, We created them of plastic clay.
Ar-Rahman 55:33 to 40
O company of jinn and men, if you have power to penetrate (all) regions of the heavens and the earth, then penetrate (them)! You will never penetrate them except with (Our) sanction. Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that you deny? There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and you will not escape. Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that you deny? And when the heaven splits apart and becomes rosy like red hide- Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that you deny? - On that day neither man nor jinni will be questioned about his sin. Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that you deny?
Al-Hashr 59:21 to 24
If We had caused this Quran to descend upon a mountain, you (O Muhammad) truly had seen it humbled, rent apart by the fear of Allah. Such similitudes coin We for mankind that perhaps they may reflect. He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Knower of the Invisible and the Visible. He is the Beneficent, Merciful. He is Allah, than Whom there is no other God, the Sovereign Lord, the Holy One, Peace, the Granter of Security, the Guardian, the Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (to Him). He is Allah, the Creator, the Originator, the Fashioner. His are the most beautiful names. All that is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Him, and He is the Mighty, the Wise.
Al-Jinn 72:1 to 4
Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed to me that a company of the jinn gave ear, and they said: Indeed, we have heard a marvellous Quran, Which guides to righteousness, so we believe in it and we ascribe no partner to our Lord. And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - has taken neither wife nor son, And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie.
Al-Kafirun 109:1 to 6
Say: O disbelievers! I do not worship that which you worship; Nor do you worship that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which you worship. Nor will you worship that which I worship. To you your religion, and to me my religion.
Al-Ikhlas 112:1 to 4
Say: He is Allah, the One! Allah, the Eternal Refuge of all! He does not beget, nor was He begotten. And there is none comparable to Him.
Al-Falaq 113:1 to 5
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the Daybreak From the evil of that which He created; From the evil of the darkness when it is intense, And from the evil of malignant witchcraft, And from the evil of the envier when he envies.
An-Nas 114:1 to 6
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, The King of mankind, The God of mankind, From the evil of the sneaking whisperer, Who whispers in the hearts of mankind, Of the jinn and of mankind.

How many verses does the list contain?
The ranges add up to 79 verses: 7 + 12 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 4 + 11 + 8 + 4 + 4 + 6 + 4 + 5 + 6 = 79, taking the surahs in table order. This is our count of this edition's contents. Nothing cited here prescribes this number.
A 2023 book, Manzil Dua 33 Ayats of Quran by Faisal Fahim, uses a different number in its title (source 5). We read only its book listing, not the book, so we cannot say how it counts.
Is Manzil a single surah?
No. In the sense used here, "Manzil" names a collection of passages from 14 surahs, not one surah. A Quran passage supplies the words being read. A hadith report may describe a practice with one particular passage, and that evidence has to be read within its own scope.
What do the hadith say about ruqyah and bedtime recitation?
'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, describes the bedtime practice of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him: he gathered his palms, blew lightly into them, recited Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas into them, then wiped what he could reach of his body. In Sahih al-Bukhari 5017 the Arabic places the blowing before the reciting, and the report says the whole action was done three times.
1AuthenticSahih al-Bukhari 5017
Sunan Abi Dawud 5056, graded sahih by al-Albani, is the same report in a second collection: the two chains are the same from 'Uqayl, through Ibn Shihab and 'Urwa to 'Aisha. It says that every night he brought his palms together, blew lightly into them, recited the same three surahs into them and wiped as much of his body as he could, three times. It concerns those three final surahs at bedtime, not the Manzil collection.
2AuthenticSunan Abi Dawud 5056
As one report in two collections, it is evidence for the practice with those three surahs. It does not prescribe the whole Manzil list above, and it names no reward.
Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i, may Allah be pleased with him, reports that people used to perform ruqyah before Islam and asked the Prophet how he saw it. He told them to show him their ruqyah, and said there is no harm in ruqyah that contains no association of partners with Allah. Ruqyah is commonly understood as recitation done over a person; that is our gloss of common usage, not the narration's wording. The report states that condition; it does not name this compilation.

Does reading Manzil guarantee protection or a cure?
The reports cited here do not promise that this compilation prevents illness or brings recovery. The bedtime report, found in two collections, describes a practice with three surahs. The ruqyah report states a condition. Neither gives a timetable or a result for this collection.
Take symptoms to your GP. This page gives no ruling on ruqyah, reciting over water, written amulets or who may perform ruqyah; those questions are for a qualified scholar. For your own situation, ask a scholar you trust.
My aunty gave me a small Manzil booklet when I moved into my first flat. One evening I checked it against a full Quran, page by page, to see where each passage came from. It took longer than I expected, and I learnt more from checking it than from reading it.
Try it: check the list
Three quick questions on the count and the reports. Each answer explains itself.
1How many verses do the listed ranges total?
Answer: 79. The ranges total 79. The title of one 2023 book says 33; that is its own title, not a count of these ranges.
2Which narration has the Prophet asking people to show him their ruqyah?
Answer: Sahih Muslim 2200. Sahih Muslim 2200 has the words "show me your ruqyah", and that there is no harm in ruqyah that contains no association of partners with Allah. Source 3
3Does the bedtime report in Sahih al-Bukhari 5017 prescribe the whole Manzil list?
Answer: No, it names three surahs: Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas. The report names those three surahs only. It names no reward and no other passage. Source 1
